SITAV S.p.A. has an in-house department dedicated to railway engineering design and industrialization, capable of managing development from individual components through to overall system management. This approach enables the company to independently handle projects related to maintenance, revamping, repairs and new-build rolling stock, ensuring consistency between the engineering solution and workshop manufacturability.

Thanks to its comprehensive industrial capabilities (from structural fabrication to electromechanical assembly and finishing operations), SITAV integrates design and production into a single workflow: from defining modifications to implementation and onboard functional verification, with particular focus on the upgrading/integration of systems and equipment during modernization activities.

The available expertise enables the development of:

- Mechanical projects (structures, components, retrofit and structural modifications);
- Electrical projects (wiring, switchboards/cabinets and integration of electrical/electronic equipment);
- Software and vehicle logic (functionalities and integration of control/diagnostic systems);
- Plant/Systems engineering projects (pneumatic systems, HVAC/heating, doors, toilets and other onboard subsystems);
- System-level projects (integration engineering, interfaces, verification and commissioning).
