Additive Manufacturing

SITAV integrates additive manufacturing (more commonly known as 3D printing) into its industrial processes with a dual objective: to create on-demand spare parts—especially non-structural components such as covers, brackets, ducts, supports, furnishing parts and small functional components—reducing warehouse stock and downtime; and to manufacture components for new products in small series. SITAV operates two SLM (Selective Laser Melting) printers for metal alloys (stainless steel, aluminium alloys and titanium alloys), as well as FDM printers for producing plastic and polymer components.

In addition to meeting its internal needs, SITAV also supplies 3D-printed prototypes and components to the external automotive and industrial markets.
